AVON — Chief Jeffrey Bukunt reports that a dispatcher for the Avon Police Department is on paid administrative leave.
The dispatcher will remain on leave pending an internal investigation and pending the outcome of an investigation being conducted by a special prosecutor under the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office into alleged inappropriate and illegal use of law enforcement databases, which dispatchers have access to.
As this is a personnel matter, and as it concerns an ongoing criminal and internal affairs investigation, no further information is being released at this time.
